I ordered my 260 from Uniden on a friday and had it monday afternoon...

I also got my 260 a couple days after Uniden had them on their website and have had no problems... it seems to have a bit hotter receive than my 15x, but still no overload from the Burlington Northern towers about 200 feet away or the Gas company repeater about a block over. It also runs 24/7...

There is an Auto-Dim setting that will do this also...when the radio hasn't received a signal for several seconds it will dim slightly from when actively receiving.....

Nice! I also have a speaker like that (generic Kenwood) and recently ran across an original Kenwood KES-3 and was blown away by the difference in the sound between the two...had to buy another original for my truck. Just a much "fuller" sound much like the Motorola speakers.

If the display is lit up and is just a blank screen (no dark spots indicating the screen is seperating inside) it will not be the contrast setting... no matter what the contrast is set on you can still see the screen. I can almost guarantee it will be the ribbon cable needs re-seating (99.9% of...
