BCD160DN/BCD260DN: Is this a new Uniden model? BCD260DN

I have found the 160 to easily be a more than worthy replacement for my 125. Makes a great little search scanner... even has a P25 indicator as an FYI (without actual P25 decode, of course) Non-scientific takes: Reception on both Mil/Civ Airbands, RR, and CB seem very similar to the 125 using...

Uniden Scanners Sale Pricing Until 01-31-2024

Amen... An almost perfect scanner as far as size and functionality. The 2 things that would make the 325P2 a perfect scanner... IMHO: 1. More battery. Make the case a bit bigger... just keep the general shape and design. 2. Backlit keypad... I am always fumbling in the dark with the keypad...

Uniden Scanners Sale Pricing Until 01-31-2024

What belvdr said... At the end of the day, Uniden is a business and their main concern is their bottom line. They don't take into account where you live or what you "need". Apple only releases phones every year because their competition does the same. Right now, with no real competition in the...

Uniden Scanners Sale Pricing Until 01-31-2024

As a price comparison... it is amazing how much the price has gone up. These are some deals I found through the years on Amazon... all of them brand new purchases: BCD325P2 -March 2017 $281.92 BCD436HP -December 2016 $351.20 BCD996P2 -December 2015 $343.70 BCT15X -December 2015 $131.24 I...

    Looking for Gatlinburg area suggestions

Pigeon Forge Police is on TACN and mostly in the clear. Lots of low power business/attraction stuff to search for in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg too.

    SDS100 and DMR

It will let you scan it but it won't decode the audio without the upgrade. You will just hear the DMR data stream if it stops on any DMR frequency.

Transmissions coming through a different frequency

Nail on the head. Back in the 80s/90s, you could use a double conversion scanner to listen to part of the cell band because of this IF imaging. Just had to search the lower 900mhz range. Explained here: Image Frequencies

BCD160DN/BCD260DN: Is this a new Uniden model? BCD260DN

Man, I remember wearing the scan button out on my Pro43 trying to track the trunks... back in the pre-BC235XLT days. These new scanners aren't trunking scanners... period. As has been stated already... Conventional Analog/DMR/NXDN only.

BCD160DN/BCD260DN: Is this a new Uniden model? BCD260DN

You may be right... those are sound numbers if using ScannerMaster for the sale price. I was going from the current Amazon sale prices for the scanners and then factoring in a range where I might buy them... I didn't do exact midpoints. The numbers for Amazon pricing (as of 7/27/23) look like...

BCD160DN/BCD260DN: Is this a new Uniden model? BCD260DN

I can definitely see the market for these scanners. I am mildly interested in the 160 as a replacement for my 125AT. I guess the big question will be the price... how much would you pay for them? Looking at the pricing comparison/estimate mentioned in this thread... Between a 125AT and 325P2...

    "forbidden" cell phone frequencies

If the scanner manufacturers don't see a benefit in getting the law repealed to save costs... it definitely isn't worth it to me, as a user. I still own a Pro 43, Pro 2006, AOR AR8000, and AOR AR8200 that are all unblocked and equally useless on this band, nowadays.

From what I have heard so far, they seem to be mostly in the clear... I don't know what their future plans are, however.

    BCT15x capability clarification

If the database is accurate, the BCT15X should receive the analog talkgroups (those that are designated as Mode A) without issue. Any talkgroup with modes other than A (ie. D or De) can NOT be monitored on the BCT15X.

    BCD536HP Dongle

I have been using one of my 536 with the wifi dongle and RadioFeed to supply my scanner feed here on RadioReference for over 2 years now. No issues other than having to restart the scanner every now and then, usually after I have restarted my firewall or my Unifi wireless AP. I don't have any...

    SDS100 Issues

I have an SDS100 I purchased at release. It was perfect up until December 2019 when it went completely deaf because of the cold solder joint issue. It was out of warranty at the time so I paid the $89.00 and shipped it to Uniden for repair. Since I got it back, it has been perfect... the issue...

    Store and restaurant frequencies!

Just to add to this... Multiple Targets in my area use these 4 frequencies: Tones may vary but I have heard that there are total of 8 different frequencies that they use nationwide... these 4 are the only ones I have confirmed for myself.
