    Zello Radio

I don't own a Zello radio. The only other possibility that comes to mind is that you might be using a special character in the hotspot name or password that the radio does not allow. Maybe try changing the name of the hotspot and password to something very simple to see if this helps.

    Zello Radio

Have you tried connecting other devices such as a computer to your hotspot? Just trying to pin down whether this is radio related or phone related.

Lunar Coordinated Time / LTC is on the way

It appears they want a time standard for the moon not time zones. They want to determine a way for people to tell time or coordinate time with each other, I assume, while living on the moon. What a strange thought.

    WR120: Flashing NOAA sign meaning?

If you have a police scanner, try tuning in the NOAA stations to see if they are received any better. If yes, maybe the weather radio receiver has a problem. Someone noted online, "From the midlandusa.com faqs: The flashing NOAA icon can indicate that the radio is not receiving a strong signal...

Continuous Hi/lo tones on NOAA radio channel

I imagine a VHF pager could be set up to alert for NOAA weather alerts. On NOAA weather radios, the tone is broadcast as a 1050 hertz tone. On a broadcasting station (radio/television), a two-tone attention signal of 853 Hz and 960 Hz is used. Better would be to purchase a handheld weather...

    Tytera What Attenna?

Also, what scanner are you using? Some of the GRE/Whistler scanners suffer greatly from desense (lowered sensitivity) due to signals from other nearby television/radio towers. Your scanner might be getting too much signal. If using a GRE/Whistler scanner try a simple antenna mounted on the...

    BCD325P2/BCD996P2: BCD996P2 NXDN Ugrade

Upgrading with official firmware (click on the link in post #6 above) does not cause any problems; it will only add features (such as NXDN) and fix existing problems with the scanner.

    BCD325P2/BCD996P2: BCD996P2 NXDN Ugrade

You can verify if NXDN is available for your scanner as an upgrade with your current firmware by pressing, "MENU" then select "Settings" then select "Upgrade". This will show what upgrades are currently available for your scanner. My scanner shows "ProVoice", "DMR/MotoTRBO", and "NXDN".

    Ugh! The Leaves Are Back!!

I used to throw a rock and string over the top of a tree and then pull up an antenna, mounted on a board, with coax leading down to the scanner. Then I had great reception! The only drawback was storms/lightning and wind pulling lightly on the coax cable.

No audio with Type 2 Trunk on Grecom PS-600

That sounds like an issue related to the scanner changing frequency bands during the scanning process. If you lock out 163.650 does the issue begin to be noticed on a different VHF frequency? You could try duplicating that conventional object and then delete the original object to see if this...

No audio with Type 2 Trunk on Grecom PS-600

Is this the control channel frequency or the voice channel frequency you are referring to?

No audio with Type 2 Trunk on Grecom PS-600

One thing about the PSR-600 scanners is they will attempt to use control channels even if the only signal present is an open carrier or noise when the trunking system is set to "Multi-Site" and "Roam". The Uniden scanners are smart enough to move on to a different control channel if data is not...

    GRE repair

You might also press TUNE, enter a control channel frequency and then press ATT to see if it helps with the reception of the control channel. If yes, the scanner is probably suffering from too much signal coming in from the antenna. Maybe a short indoor antenna would work better in this...

    GRE repair

I would try the PSR-600 scanners at a different location to rule out local interference. PSR-600 scanners suffer considerably from densense due to out of band interference from cellphone towers, television towers and possibly FM radio station towers. A new radio/television tower could have...

What is this signal on 145 kc USB?

It sounds like something coming from a local piece of electronic equipment. Try walking around with the radio to locate it. The remote starter unit on my truck transmits a similar signal.

PSR500/PSR600: Hanging VHF Freq (1 only) in PSR-600

I don't believe it would be a birdie as that would be a constant signal. If it is from the other scanners, then it should cease to be a problem when the other scanners are turned off. In the Denver area, my PSR-600 shows a signal present on the signal strength meter across the entire 160-174...

    Weld County

Weld N PD (talkgroup 1938) and Weld S PD (talkgroup 1946) are on the FRCC system. These talkgroups currently have BOTH phase 1 and phase 2 transmissions occurring on them presently until all the radios are transitioned over to phase 2. If you are using a phase 1 scanner, you are only receiving...

    Fort Carson Control Channels

The control channel cannot be received in central Weld county if that helps at all in pinpointing the location.

PSR500/PSR600: Hanging VHF Freq (1 only) in PSR-600

Did you remove the delay for that channel? Can you add a PL/CTCSS tone to that channel? When you manually enter that frequency and monitor it with the squelch turned down do you hear anything other than static (try AM mode if possible)? It sounds like there is some type of signal present on...

    Scanning In Denver

The sites with the greatest number of voice channels tend to carry the most traffic in general. This also depends on whether you want traffic focused on your immediate vicinity or extended outward to a larger perimeter of say 10-20 miles. Much of Lakewood cannot be monitored due to “E”. Lakewood...
