I would consider borrowing a radio and try it before you decide on what you are going to purchase. You are going get a lot people telling what they like but it may not be your thing. It will also depend on your area. Some modes are more popular in one area compared to another.

In there area I live the DMR Repeaters out number the DSTAR and Fusion machines. Not saying DMR is better, just more options here.

Some hams are low income and can not afford higher priced equipment. That only supports my point that CCR Radios will have an impact on radio pricing. Not all end users are Public Service Agencies.

Some of the CCR Radios work better than people give them credit for.

I found a Radio Shack Store in Sitka Alaska that is open. The Radio Shack Sign is on the building. The store sell electronics not any with the brand name on it. I saw the store about a month ago when I was there on a vacation cruise.

I agree If Radio Shack really were trying to stay in business they would be replenishing their stock, but they are not. What is left on their website is not an interest to me. I have a couple of local Electronic Stores close to home where I can get what I need quicker,

They weren't the only ones frustrated with the situation. A lot of us Radio Shack users we're also because a lot us of thought that we were not going to ever get the DMR upgrade for our Pro 668's.
