    VIPER Statewide Radio System Discussion

Yadkin County does have plans in the near future to move to VIPER, and even constructing a new tower. That is good to know that they are finally patching their channels

They are in VIPER and I hear them all the time. Must be a programming issue

    VIPER Statewide Radio System Discussion

Some areas will activate Phase II before the 2025 cutoff. I know there is a simulcast project in the pipelines that when complete, will come online to operate as Phase II, before the rest of the state cuts over

    Crisp County

I am down there about once a month and when I was there a couple of weeks ago everything was in the clear. I have been trying to get the database updated in my small amounts fo time down there since it is pretty old and there are a lot of TGs that haven't been discovered

    NCSHP Troops/Districts

I'm confused what you are asking. All the districts and troops in the state are on on "system", the VIPER system that is statewide and all channels have access to every tower in the state.

FRS, GMRS, MURS are all very common for pilots to fly on. Also, the Balloon Federation of America has a nationwide license that most pilots fly on FCC Callsign WQRG549 (BALLOON FEDERATION OF AMERICA)

Also, troop G uses Newton as their dispatch center now, which is shared with troop F. In troop F, F2 and F4 are patched, and I believe that F1, F3, and F5 are patched together, meaning the dispatchers only have two "channels" to monitor for troop F. Most of the time at night, the dispatcher...

Broadcastify calls links in the database

From my experience, the links vanish without being used for a certain amount of time. I host a statewide system calls and have every channel in the state on my calls platform, but only the TGs that have been recently active on the tower I am monitoring actually come across and show the links.

    Highway Patrol in Robeson County

I hear them all the time when I travel through there. The last time I went through there was this past Thursday and Sunday and they were active. You may be listening to a tower that they are not affiliated on by chance

    VIPER Statewide Radio System Discussion

I believe this is taken out of context. There are statewide encryption keys made in all the accepted formats to support the Law Enforcement Only statewide channels. Read the document posted several posts above the one you replied to, it answers that question.

What radio do I need for Alamance County?

Mirroring a lot of what is here, I would recommend a Phase II capable scanner. VIPER is going phase II around July 2025, with the potential for some counties that are ready to switch earlier...... Also for the Guilford system, a scanner that handles simulcast distortion would be recommended as...
