Saint J barracks, using the old channel with 192.8

Copy on the digital.. Across the lake in the Adirondacks however, Essex County NY has been using a digital multicast system for a few years now with great coverage and very few complaints. Not sure why VSP can't get it to work.

Saint J barracks, using the old channel with 192.8

Interesting. They normally use 167.9, correct? Seems like they abandoned the digital project across the state.

    Central Vermont VSP digital?

Not sure if you would hear the actual digital transmissions if you cleared out the PL tones. Depending on your receiver. If its in analog mode you would hear a burst of noise when they transmit digitally.

    VSP Patches

This IS NOT what they are doing. They are patching the repeaters at the console in the Dispatch Center so all traffic (dispatch and patrol) from different Troops / tower sites is heard by all who monitor those two VSP Troop frequencies for sometimes hours at a time.

    VSP Patches

I can hear both sides of the conversation. The other Troops that they patch are not even close to each other. Maybe its a Dispatch manpower issue and they are using one Dispatcher for multiple Troops? Not sure what's going on.

    VSP Patches

Does anyone know why the different VSP troops get patched together often at various times? I often hear VSP New Haven get patched with VSP Berlin, St. Albans and other troops.

Addison Cnty Sheriff (new UHF 460.4375 repeater)

I have been monitoring that frequency for quite a while now with no hits. They are still using 155.415 as far as I can tell. Strange thing is, after a certain time each day they switch over to being dispatched by Rutland County.

Town of Hartford VT Police / Fire Frequencies

Did you try 460.250 in analog mode? Maybe they are dispatched by VSP, Winsdor County Sheriffs or a nearby Town? Maybe try other frequencies that are licensed to the Town of Hartford. ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - KSU636 - HARTFORD, TOWN OF...

    VSP - Royalton New Frequency?

Essex County NY also has a multicast system. Their radios have the vote scan option and automatically pick the best site to receive from. Seems to be working well for them.

    NYSP Troop B

So are you saying that the Massena substation is using the old NYSP TAC channel for Dispatching? The last I knew all of the Dispatching for NYSP in that area was moving from SP Canton to BCOM in Lewis.
