    Difficulty Contacting Broadcastify Support

I've been trying to contact Broadcastify Support for several weeks using the "support@broadcastify.com" email address listed on the web site. The messages keep bouncing back with the following message: Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address...

    GMRS Base Station

Thanks alcahuete. I'll check that list out. I agree. As a practical matter, the FCC isn't going to knock on my door and demand to see the Type Acceptance sticker on any of my radios. Heck, you could probably operate a ham radio out-of-band and no one would know or even care. In this case I...

    GMRS Base Station

I am also planning on installing a GMRS base station. Regarding selecting a radio, it is my understanding that commercial radios that are FCC Type Accepted under Part 90 (land mobile) are not necessarily type accepted for use in the GMRS service (Part 95.) First of all, is that understanding...

Tom, Good catch! That's ten more frequencies. Thanks again, Dan

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

PJH, (Still didn't get your name.) "One of the applications of the LLC is the director of PTC for NS." Correct! That's to be expected. "PTC 220 LLC" is a holding company established by a consortium of the railroads. If you browse through the PTC 220 LLC filings, you'll also find mailing...

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

PTC - ATCS reconrider8, (Sorry, didn't get your name either.) PTC is an overlay of existing signalling systems. It does NOT replace them. Thus, it makes no difference whether those systems operate via ATCS, copper wire, fiber, microwave, satellite or sub-space radio. PTC augments the existing...

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

PTC License PJH, (Sorry, I didn't get your name.) The licenses (there are two) are issued to "PTC-220, LLC" which is the holding company the railroads set up to "buy" the auctioned spectrum. The call signs are: WPFP444 and WPFR284. The links to the license information in the ULS are: ULS...

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

Thanks Jay! That's good info. Looks like two of those frequencies agree with what they're licensing here. The others are new! I'll poke those in my scanner too just in case as we have some D&H in my neck of the woods. Dan

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

PTC Frequencies The frequencies are directly from the FCC's ULS database. That's about as credible as you can get. :) Dan

    Positive Train Control Frequencies

PTC Frequencies To the Group: Finally found the PTC lease agreements on the FCC website. I submitted this info to the RR database, but some of it appears to have been corrupted in the posting process. Thought I'd post it to this thread for general information. The actual frequencies licensed...

You have already been a great help! Thank you for the time! I'll keep messing around and see what I can come up with. At least I know the radio is working! :) 73, Dan

    996T in Morris County

Imported the NJ State Police, NJ Transit North, NJ Transit South and JCP&L portions of the file. I am receiving on all three, so the radio appears to be working. Just nothing on Morris County. The P25 Err Rate meter on the virtual scanner is pegged on everything and the "ERR:" display on the...

    996T in Morris County

Okay. I turned the attenuator off (no attenuation) and removed the antenna. Down to one bar now. Error rate is still pegged.

    996T in Morris County

When I hit Func and Vol, the display shows "Err: - - -" Dashes, no number. As it scans, the threshold changes constantly. When I "Hold" it fluctuates between 8 and 11 and the three Threshold Voltages vary by about 0.2 volts.

    996T in Morris County

Another possible clue: I just kicked on FreeSCAN's computer control for the 996 which has a "P25 Err Rate" indicator. It seems to be maxing out. Dan

    996T in Morris County

I'm not sure how to interpret the table. Is there a link where I can learn to decode the data? Also, how does the "851.00625" enter into what appears to be a 470 MHz system?

    996T in Morris County

Hmmm . . . That's not the type of entry I'm seeing here. What I'm looking at is in the Site portion of the file. It's the APCO Band Plan tab. I'll attach a screen grab. Dan
