Palo Pinto County new trunked system

That was actually the second tower for KFWR. The original one is a pile of scrap metal on top of Welcome Mountain in Mineral Wells. It was still standing after they moved off of it until a city pickup caught the guy wires. It wasn't a very stout tower.

New Judge Sets Timeline for Post-Trial Motions in Hytera-Motorola Case

Ultimately the winners will be Motorola's lawyers... they will get paid, Hytera will close up shop in the US and stay in the safety of China, and Motorola won't get a dime from them. Their non-party subsidiaries will still operate as normal, but it will be the end of Hytera radio sales in the US.

    Granbury 700 MHz trunked system

Saw these going up yesterday at the Stephenville tower. Looks like they are making progress toward getting the Stephenville site up and running.

New FCC Part 95E Compliant GMRS Portable Transceivers

I had some rural fire departments try to convince me that they were allowed to use Icom Amateur radios on their Part 90 dispatch channels because they were public safety. Ended up losing their business when I refused to program them.

    Basic Radio Workbench items

I have that solution... and that issue in my shop. Three benches and always full of projects.

    Basic Radio Workbench items

I never needed it this when I got into this business in the 90's. Now I can't work without it!

    Cooke Co Trunked System

Does anyone have any site info to post into the database yet? Someone put all 12 of the Cooke channels into a single site instead of the 4 sites. Cooke County License WRUD885 MUENSTER TX 771.25625 772.68125 774.49375 GAINESVILLE TX 769.75625 772.05625 773.93125 GAINESVILLE TX...

FCC Bans Equipment Authorizations For Chinese Telecommunications

Looks like the Hytera portion of it doesn't really have any teeth either. It only applies to broadband equipment with a transmission rate above 200kbps. None of the radios meet that threshold.

    White Settlement P25

I've been recording data/voice for a couple of weeks and pretty much the only thing I see is the PW talkgroup (24583). I see a lot of affiliations with it, and very few conversations.

    White Settlement P25

In the little while I have had it running I have only seen an affiliation and a call on the Public Works talkgroup. I'll let it keep running for the rest of the week.

    White Settlement P25

I've got DSD+ sitting on it now about 1/2 mile from the site. I'll see what comes up.

Centrunk (CTRS) Project 25 VDOC System

I don't think YK will work for a Itinerant License. It would have to be YG. Itinerant licenses can only be private, not commercial. The station class of FB8I looks legit according to my automated Form 601 software. But I don't think you can us YK or IK for itinerant channels.

    Tk-840 will not recieve

I think I have some TK840 radios being used as wheel chocks here. Not worth putting any time or parts into for repair.

    Ef Johnson vp400 parts

I tried to get them a few months ago as a KW/EFJ dealer. I was told they would no longer be available. All remaining parts have been sent to their service center/warranty depot (third party). I heard the same things about the repair center only having model 3 housings. It looks like support is...

    New CCR brand?

Looks like that radio has a patent-infringing feature on it as well. The USB-C charge port with the charge indicator is covered under a US patent and is not licensed to to them.

461.4375 DRM In Bell County Tx

Looking into it a little, it is WRMS451 that is licensed to Jarell ISD on 461.4375/466.4375. It shouldn't be carrying any other traffic than Jarrell ISD. Aerowave is listed as the contact on the license. That is common for radio dealers to do when they take care of the licensing for the customer.

    Ham Strike Team

"HAM STRIKE TEAM"... I wonder if they will be using Part 90 radios... just curious. I see so many out there who don't know anything about the FCC rules, especially with the influx of cheap Chinese radios that either aren't certified, or are not certified for the services they are being used for...

    153.13 - San Antonio

Probably bought some radios off of Amazon. You know, the true communications professionals who can help a customer select the proper equipment that is legal to use, get them licensed, and program them properly for the users...

Trunked DMR received in another band

Are you sure it's trunked and not just a single DMR repeater? If it were trunked it would be spewing out data constantly, with and without voice frames.

    Microwave Band Choice Backhaul TRS

That much antenna catching wind and attached to those little tower legs... I see an annual alignment necessary. That arm isn't going to be enough to keep it from pivoting on those legs. It helps to prevent the antenna from pivoting on it's mount to the large pipe. That large pipe will still...
