    Minitor 5 question

Other options are available. Other brands of pagers, who might have more tone slots available. Unication, and Swiss Phone make solid products, there are some lesser known brands around. If you have a radio you can use to feed audio to a computer, Two Tone Detect is a program that can send you...

Based on what Google Maps shows, each suite has a separate address, not just a suite number. Seems like a business that is using the "ghost kitchen" concept, selling various things under different names.

There are ways to get the A tones, if that is easier. It could help prevent some false alerts.

Lunar Coordinated Time / LTC is on the way

The way I heard it explained, there would be one timezone for the whole moon. Unless this is done via the scientific standards community, it could be dismissed by anyone other than the US government. If anyone dismissed an internationally accepted standard, it would be odd. The time on the moon...

    Minitor 5 question

You can program the pager to monitor all transmissions, but that might get more than you want to hear. The pager will alert, and pass audio, for all the tone sets you program. I don't recall the number of sets you can program. As for the tone decoding, the pager alerts as soon as it has...

    462.5325 Repeater in Royal Oak

I finally got the time to check signals in the area, on Sunday. Nothing popped up on the reported freq, but found a few digital & FM signals nearby. The digital signals seemed like DMR or SCADA pulses. Are they only appearing on work days?

anyone able to get a CB antenna to work on a Jeep TJ it's like the old CJ's??

I had a 97 XJ that I used a trunk lip mount on the driver's side of the hood, for my K40. It worked pretty well, and was easy to take off, for parking structures & ferries.

SMA, not DMA. Not sure why autocorrect would do that to me, so must be my own fat finger. :)

I have the DMA version of this on my dual band handheld, which I also use for monitoring other things. It works well, and is more durable than another option I tried. Just make sure you are getting a real one, as I see some clones online.

    USB rant

There is a protocol for anything beyond the original 5V being applied. My Samsung "fast" phone chargers can put out 9V @ 1.7A, but there is a handshake between the charger and the phone, before the fast mode is enabled. The same would apply to the other faster modes.

    USB rant

USB 2.x & 3.x have to do with data direction, speed & power capabilities. The A, B, C, mini, & micro, are about the connector. USB 3.0 was introduced with the micro style connectors, with an added sub connector.
