    Droid-star for dmr

Aha! That is why I can't connect :( I also can't connect to many others on DMR, but I think it's a phone firmware / software issue. I can get on a few things but most will not connect.

    Beware of Headlinemen52

While it could not be shipped yesterday due to it being a holiday, he should have at least sent you some communication stating the circumstances. I do not know if they are printing out a label at home, in which case there would at least be a tracking number available, or if they are paying at...

Horrible 10 over interference on all bands

I guess since we haven't heard anything back for days from him, either the issue is resolved or the radio has gone to a landfill.

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

If that is the case, then they are incapable of grasping the technical details necessary to troubleshoot when something goes wrong, which would probably not be the case if they are using simple analog. Quite honestly, if they don't have the will to get their ham tickets then that is a very...

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

I have not witnessed any of the abuses of the service you have referred to, everything is running smoothly without issue in my area. I also do not believe there is a preponderance of that type of activity in a much of the country. The basis of adding to a service is showing proof that it will...

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

The whole concept of digital just makes things unnecessarily confusing for those who just want simple communications. There is simply no demand from the vast majority to change what is already working just fine. Since you already have your amateur ticket, why wouldn't you just use DMR on that...

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

So now everybody has to get DMR radios and go begging for code plugs? Your average user, the ones GMRS is meant for, is not looking to get into the technical aspects of radio. All they want to do is buy the unit, turn it on, and have it work. This is a prime example of a very very small group...

    FM CB with Digital?

How would that benefit the average user in real world situations on a daily basis?

    Wanted Imax2000

Ebay is your best source on that one. There is a new 24' model for sale on there right now. However, for about $5 less you can get the Maco V58 5/8 wave antenna with 5dB gain. A metal antenna is going to far outlast any fiberglass, and (IMO) performs much better.

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

That would be great if you could post them, I would like to see how they match up to what I have found already, and you may have a version I have not seen yet. I had no idea they made so many different licenses over the years.

    Which ones do you have?

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

There are 6 formats I have discovered so far, but the oldest I can find is 1966 which is much later than when the FCC first started licensing in 1958. After the '66, there was a 68, 71, 73, 75, and 77. I doubt they changed format after 77 because I believe there were planning to go with...

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

Yes, that is the target area, but it could vary slightly depending on who processed the license and what kind of day they were having.

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

This license did not have "Class of Station". That field was replaced by " Part 95 Subpart"

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

Here is my final product. I think it came out quite good with the typewriter font, and was even able to mimic the carbon copy marks on the paper.

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

Just a few points here: The date on the upper left is the date the layout of the license form was officially adopted. The dates in the boxes are in the wrong format. It was consistent on all the licenses as month-day-year. On that particular form, your original name and address would appear in...

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

It's not really in a template form Also, I think my creation would have been a different format since it was issued just before the licensing requirement was dropped. The one I have is a mix of using Publisher, Paint, and Wordpad, so basically it's in 3 different files that have to be assembled...

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

It looks like they dropped his signature from the license some time in the 70's. There are a bunch of examples around the internet that do not have it.

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

Maybe it should have been 10x4, or possibly a 5x5? Looking at all the different CB licenses I could possibly find, there appears to be somewhat different fonts used on licenses throughout the years (and sometimes even the same year), which makes me think the FCC just handed one of the...

CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

I had already done the search many times for google photos for the last couple years and came up with about 40 or so examples from many different time periods. There were a few different formats but found a couple issued within a year or so of when mine was sent out and felt confident they were...
