For SE Wisconsin, I have heard activity on 151.31 during high risk fire conditions. Most activity as mentioned are on local sheriff for wardens. The strongest Brown repeater in this area comes off the repeater for Kettle Morane in SW Waukesha County.

WISCOM Thread (all posts regarding WISCOM go here)

The signal strength is not as good as yesterday, locks onto the cc just fine but voice channels are choppy. Seeing the issi patches of 58903 and 58905. Strange how the frequencies of this new site are not found in fcc database. A site in that area of Men Falls or Germantown makes sense for...

WISCOM Thread (all posts regarding WISCOM go here)

Greetings, more to add today. The control channel changed to 774.06875 with a site number of 246 and NAC of BO2. Now that I have it programmed , the first TGID that poped up was 121 which is WSP. Other frequencies that are displaying are 773.31875 and 774.31875. Non of these frequencies are...

WISCOM Thread (all posts regarding WISCOM go here)

Is there anyone aware of a new WISCOM site in the Milwaukee area? I am hitting on a control channel on 773.071875 or the next frequency step up with a NAC of B02. Fairly strong by the county medical grounds.

    Door County Radio System

I didn't realize that they were going 800 mhz? Would this be a trunking system? If that is the case, the county should do a comparison study for costs to join WISCOM like their neighboring County of Kewaunee.

    Door County Radio System

That sure seems like a bit much for such a small square area at the tip of the county. The communications tower located between Ellison Bay and Sister Bay has good coverage. Adding one tower near Bailys Harbor would help, but the others seem to be overkill. Monitoring the Door for over thirty years.

    Rubber ducked dB gain?

Thanks for all replys. I am trying to find a good antenna for vhf through 800 for my handhelds. I live in an urban environment with heavy RF from nearby sources. The ducks work well but of course are limited in range. My favorite HT antenna is the Diamond RH77CA which is too much gain for my...

    Rubber ducked dB gain?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what is the average dB gain of a stock rubber duckey antenna that comes in the box with a handheld scanner?

    OASIS Unidentified Talkgroup Thread

Once TGID 2032 became active, the uhf frequency of 453.375 became quiet. I confirmed this the past couple months when the county would test their warning sirens on the third Wednesday of the month.

New City of Milwaukee radio system

I have set my pro 106 to see what would happen, and nothing so far in a month. When analyzing the system, the 106 will display the system's info such as system i.d., NAC, etc.

    Tornado siren freq Racine city

This would of been in mid to late 1990s and maybe early 2000s. I have family down there and often would bring my scanner.

Milwaukee County / Waukesha County DPW Agencies: VHF, UHF, 800Mhz Conventional or OASIS???

That digital noise may be from wiscom. The Greenfield wiscom site uses a former frequency of the old smartnet system of 856.4625. Not sure why this site was taken off RR? It is still used with two active agencies; city dpw and parks. It still may also be accessed as a back up for nearby...

Milwaukee County / Waukesha County DPW Agencies: VHF, UHF, 800Mhz Conventional or OASIS???

Don't forget about Greenfield. They are still using their Motorola TRS for public works including snow removal.

New City of Milwaukee radio system

It seems to be alive. I am seeing an active control channel on 770.31875 with a system ID of 293. I only have a p25 type I scanner, so may not able to monitor for talk groups.

    Ozaukee County Encryption

I will assume then there will no longer be a patch of Mequon PD on the Washington Co. radio system TG 57531? I am too far to monitor Ozaukee so I rely on Washington county for patches of Mequon PD and Ozaukee sheriff.

    Menominee County Fire Talkgroups?

I wonder if this transition will also impact the city of Menominee Fire on 154.13?

    Menominee County Fire Talkgroups?

Is there a plan to move all county fire and rescue comms to the statewide trunking system and abandon vhf?
