At 941MHz how much will will putting antenna in attic affect reception?

Before I moved had an ATCS feed with a L-comm grid antenna in the attic. House was at a decent elevation with no obstructions and had useable MCP coverage out to 40 miles with a Lucent preamp on an MDS data radio.

    TK-790 issue

Non-OEM serial KPG-43 from KJ6ZWL on Amazon. Always had luck with him in the past. Serial to USB adapter that I have programmed numerous Kenwood and Icoms through as well on same machine. First 790 though. Adapter and KPU com port matches and have tried various.

    TK-790 issue

Picked up a remote mount 790 off the auction site. Radio is functioning and had a few NWS stations programmed and RX is fine. Unable to communicate with KPG-44D software (display shows PC and then get comm/check settings error). Further in trying to check the firmware, radio seems to ignore the...

Yesterday my TK-7180 used for receive only failed to power up. It has power and ignition sense is disabled . Speaker does appear to pop if power is reconnected but will not power on. It's remote mounted so have yet to pull it. Any thoughts or things to check?

    Tacoma Radio Install

No mic, RX only for rail and a little weathernet now and then. Superlok held tight this week in some pretty good Ohio heat. The OEM Kenwood head bracket eats up some valuable space and turned the space below head into a nice snare trap for my hand. If the Superlok fails I'll have to modify the...

    Tacoma Radio Install

After last weekends successful antenna install, this evening was set aside to get the remote mount NX-700 installed. Decided to put the radio behind the rear drivers side seat so needed to get power, the remote cable and an external speaker wire routed back to there which Toyota made rather easy...

    Tacoma Antenna Install

Recently purchased a 2014 Toyota Tacoma and wanted to find a way to get an antenna on it for mostly monitoring the RR band. While drilling for an NMO mount was always an option, it was more of a last resort for me. Studying what I could find about the factory gps/XM Sharkfin, I found a VW...

    Rail RX Base antenna options

Usually a directional antenna with have big enough side or rear lobes that you still hear quite a bit away from the area you have it aimed at. My setup on the South Central Ohio railroadradio.net feed is aimed south but I still hear a solid 25 miles to the north.

Also used to have detectors repeat transmissions. Not sure what number they key in but on many installs on CSX, the detector will respond "Rebroadcast" and then repeat the last transmission.

    Evaluating the VHF half-square

Late to the show... After reading up on Cebik's site years ago, I set out to construct a 3 element half square beam for 161 MHz. Due to deed restrictions, antennas of any size need to be in my attic so I spent the first few years at my house tinkering with various antennas trying to maximize...

    Base Antenna

Arrow Antenna has a 4 element yagi for 162 MHz for like $85 that is very nice. It does well in my attic but my 3 element half square beam out does it a bit.
