Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Not sure how true that is anymore. We have a fleet of DTR700's. I use mine all day, place it in the charger (still on) and it charges overnight. Pick it up in the morning and keep going, rarely ever reboot it. It was sitting in my charger for the last 4 months (on and receiving) and I pick...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

For anyone wanting to see the new Stubby DTR700 Antenna (PMAF4025), here's a photo of the one I just received compared to the other DTR Antennas that I have. Price was about $28.50 from an online retailer after coupon.

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Sorry, I think you're misunderstanding...I'm referring to the user transmitting on a DTR650 and me receiving it on a DTR700. The DTR700 tries to mitigate it, but it flat out sounds like it's going to blow out the speaker doing it. Changed the DTR650 Ambient Noise setting (to HIGH in my case)...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

You haven't met the employees that use our DTR650's. Having them YELL into the radios touching their lips is a common occurrence (they work in a loud environment), and was causing a major issue with our DTR700's trying to blast that across its speaker. Wish I would have remembered the Ambient...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

I updated all of our DTR650's yesterday to set the Ambient Noise setting to HIGH. In the few transmissions I've heard today from those that are notorious for climbing up on the mic, it has made a huge difference in the received sound quality on the DTR700's. Time will tell...I'm sure someone...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Interesting...pictured below is a comparison of the stock DTR700, DTR650 and the TLK100 antenna that I use on our DTR700's. I'm really curious to see what the "new" stubby antenna looks like for the DTR700's!

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Yes, no special cable is needed, however make sure you have the newer version of the cable (one side of the switch says CPS ANALOG and one side says CPS DIGITAL.) The older version I had (one side says CPS the other side says FLASH) for my DLR's wouldn't upload to the DTR700 correctly with the...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Woo hoo! I just downloaded and updated our DTR700's. Can confirm that Scanning talkgroups on the same hopset does work (make sure you have the talkgroups in the Scan List though - I originally didn't and thought it wasn't working. ;) You have to switch to ADVANCED in the Business Radio CPS...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

When I talked with the two (yes, 2) guys supporting this product at Motorola, they said it has to go through a dealer to provide feedback to Motorola. I could tell them my feedback all day long, but they weren't "allowed" to do anything with it. But if someone else knows different, I'd love...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

It really sounds to me like you're talking about the SCAN feature that the DTR650's have. It allows you to be on one Talkgroup but "scan" and hear transmissions on other Talkgroups programmed (and then immediately talk on that Talkgroup if so desired.) Unfortunately, the DTR700's don't have...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Sorry, didn't mean to offend you in any way. The cable I referenced is the cable you need. I have over 30 DTR650's in business use, and have programmed them from day one... The cable I linked is the cable you would need. The firmware cable was discontinued long ago and really isn't...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

I'm not sure what you mean by "...was the one sent for my Nextels..." You need this cable: Programming Cable Is this the one you have? When you are in the Business Radio CPS, you need to make sure to click the drop down box under Radio Type and select DTR. You then need to set the Preference...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

For those that may have seen the DTR720 on the Motorola website and hoped it was a "more feature rich version" of the DTR700, that isn't the case. According to Motorola support, the DTR720 is an International version on a different frequency spectrum than the US version. Just wanted to correct...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

For those that aren't a big fan of the taller antenna on these radios, I am currently running an HKAN4002 antenna that belongs on a WAVE TLK100 LTE radio on our new DTR700's and have not noticed any decrease in signal or distance thus far. It's a significant height savings, and makes the radio...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Ordered several DTR700 radios to replace some DTR650's in our fleet that went missing. There is a lot to like about these radios, the audio quality is great, the dedicated Private Button is nice, the small & light factor of the radio itself is great, but there are a couple of complaints that I...

Poudre Fire Auth - FRC 5?

Could you be referring to FIC 5? These are Fire Inspection Coordinators. They are actually a part of the Truck/Tower crews and typically respond in an F150 pickup truck along with the truck/tower on calls. Allows them to be mobile to perform inspection duties and such. There are FIC's at...
