My SDS100 hears Wayne Township percent.. Have trouble with 536 and simulcast trying to listen from my home in Pequannock. Had to set a scanner up at my in-laws house in Wayne to get it right and use proscan to hear it in my house. Now with the SDS 100 I do not have the problem anymore!!!!.

I have heard of some issues up the hill with digital. Different people say different things about the digital. Many are not happy that they can not listen after dispatch anymore and the pagers make a buzz saw sound when anyone is talking digital. Bottom line they are in a learning curve now...

Because I have a vested interest in Pequannock I am parked on PD and FD/EMS. I can assure you that I am not missing anything due to RAS.

Could someone please explain how they know they are missing transmission when a system is protected by RAS?

I have a couple of comments. The radios were bought as part of a $300,000 upgrade to the older radios that Pequannock was using. The same radios that PD uses are the same type radios FD is using.So radios are RAS protected. To now listen to fire calls I have programmed my one of my scanners...

Is the 396 Digital? If not, you will want to turn it off after the dispatch.

Fire and EMS/ First Aid Squad will be dispatched on Analog. After dispatch you will not hear them unless you have a good digital radio

I would assume that the paging will still use the repeaters. I will know better by tomorrow. Should have RAS same as PD. FD radios can talk on PD band if needed. I have no problem receiving RAS protected transmissions.

Another delay for digital. Contractor had an emergency. Now is Monday. DPW is already digital. EMS is digital after dispatch. Fire analog till now Monday. Fire and EMS will still dispatch on analog.

The will still use the current PL on analog. The DMR repeater will be using the two TDMA time slots. I should know the CC and TGID early Thursday. I am sure they will use only one TGID.

Yes I did, however there were problems with the analog part. On this Monday the contractor rescheduled for tomorrow. My radio are ready. I thing I have it right. 453.025 only listen for analog. 453.025 only listen for digital. Two different channels.
