picking up BBC's 3255 broadcasts depend on a number of factors such as time of day & your location. If you are in North America then no you won't be likely to hear BBC on that frequency. If you're in europe then you might get it. If you're in NA try for the Ascension Island transmissions. In the daylight hours try 15400, 17640, 17830, 12095, 9915, ...these are just from memory. Aoki has a much more current schedule of HF broadcasts. Bi Newsletter for DXers. Click on the "new sw schedule link. BBC is about to make alot of frequency changes on April 1 & Aoki will have them. he updates most every day. Good luck & don't hesitate to ask for help if you are confused. I've been listening to shortwave for many years & I'm still confused :)

pkbarbiedoll, welcome to the group. I live in the next state over in South Carolina......

The BBC no longer targets North America but there are some good times to listen to them, although you will rarely get a booming signal.... A really good guide is Primetime Shortwave's English list.

This will change after saturday (March 30) when the A13 schedules begin. In the afternoons, anything out of the Seychelles targeting Africa is usually a good catch, in the evenings, anything out of Ascension will come in okay depending on the band and atmosphere conditions

Currently the best for me, using UTC time according to my logs....

7435 from 0200-0400utc
7255 from 0400-600 (sometimes 15400a at 0500utc)
15400 at 0800utc
9410 from 2000-2200
12095 from 2200-2200
9915 from 2100-2300
I never listen in the mornings our local times... There are other freqs, some that barely come in, some that won't come in at all, and some that will come in pretty good... You won't get in the lower freqs like the 3200khz range and such...

Go to.......

http://www.eibispace.de/

download...

EIBIview (by Tobias Taufer) (zip, v22)

Unzip that, then download the latest data (updates almost daily sometimes!) in TXT format and put it in the EiBi directory. Now if you click on the map and put BBC in the square you will get every broadcast on at that time........easy.

BBC doesn't TARGET N America but easily heard via their Kranji and Meyerton transmitters.. PKBArbie try 6140khz & 6190kHz, 9740 & 9410 those are good bets I can usually hear them fair in SW USA. Best times are in the wee hrs of the morning 10:00 UTC and later.. don't worry you will hear them.
