hi everyone, started searching the 140s tonight and am able to pick up the Bell Fleetnet in London, Ont pretty well. My aprs station is also reporting a dx of 220 miles!! i'd say the band is open!!

In 2001, I once worked a Canadian repeater on my HTX-202 using the rubber ducky antenna and the low power 1 watt setting while standing at the edge of Lake Erie in Erie, PA. My signal went 50 miles across the lake and 30 miles into Ontario. I picked up OPPD in the 142 Mc range so I decided to give it a try. BTW, I live north of Wheeling on the Ohio side of the Ohio River and there are times I pick up a Toronto station on 92.1 Mc skipping in. I'm from the Western side of the Pittsburgh area.
