I have SDR# running, I lucked out on the first install it seems. But I can't get HDSDR going. The extra
step of adding the dll stumps me. I need to know when to do the following things:

1. When to install HDSDR?
2. When to run Zadig?
3. When to run the dll software? Where to put it? Automatic?
4. When to plug in the receiver?
5. When to start HDSDR?

SDR# is ok but having to reload freqs if I stop and play, no presets, etc., I would like to compare and see
if I prefer one over the other.
System is Vista on an old hp laptop.

Note: When I use a EDA 2100 drop amp I see no noticeable difference change, maybe a slight
rise in noise level. I assume that the agc kicks in and reduces gain with stronger signals.

Not working here either.. Didn't check it before.. hehe

If I remember right you install HDSDR, run Zadig (I used all the default install settings), then run HDSDR as normal.

Got it going.

https://www.thecraag.com/RTL-SDR_on_Windows

step 5 I didn't have to do, I think
step 6 hint was wrong should be RTL readlen=8192 tuner=e4k

HDSDR is more sensitive, noise level below 100, SDR# noise level around 85.
HDSDR presets great, SDR# have to reset every time you change / load.
SDR# waterfall bigger.
SDR# 2 meg display ~~ HDSDR < meg ~~ kinda sorta
