I have saved one of my AM Broadcast killer filters for use with radios that get a bit squirelly when hooked up to a big antenna. I just bought a Cross Country Wireless SDR-4+ SDR, and even though it has switchable bandpass filters, I kind of expect it to need the filter put in line. It works very well, starts attenuation at about 2MHZ. 1500KHZ is down about 50DB, and by the time it gets to 1400, it's close to 60DB down. It was pretty cheap to build, something like $25, including an aluminum box to put it into.

Hello,

I bought a Clifton Labs AM Band-Reject Filter and now I can listen to HF with the Attenuator Off. I recently got a passive antenna (AOR SA7000) to try out.

The FDM-S2 does great on the FM Broadcast Band. I use a program called RDS Spy instead of the built-in RDS decoder in the FDM-S2 Software to decode RDS information.

I also like the station database feature that shows station names on the spectrum display.
