Default Rtl Sdr dongle ir?

I saw this when I clicked tuner info within Sdrtrunk. I would like to know if there is a way to turn off the ir function since the dongle is not being used with a remote. Just curious.

Thanks

When I ported the original RTL driver to Java, I didn't add any code to interact with the IR sensor if/when present on the tuner.

There is a linux program that is incorporated in the osmocom rtl-sdr project, rtl_eeprom.1, that will allow you to do this. It also has other functions for the RTL2832 dongles. You can read about it here Ubuntu Manpage: rtl-eeprom - EEPROM programming tool for RTL2832 based DVB-T receivers.
