I'm listening to ICIS (https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=2856) Trunked system with Unitrunker,

My setup is a Discone to two RTL-SDR V3 dongles, It sounds fairly good for the most part, but sometimes (usually when Montebello Police Dispatch or Tac speak) it will sound glitchy and unintelligible. I want to try to reduce this as much as possible.

I've tried DSDTune, it didn't seem to help a whole lot. My settings can be seen HERE:

VerFD sounds better than Montebello PD for whatever reason too.

Generally I see a lot of "Sync:p25p1 NAC: 87 TDULC UNHANDLED EXPLICIT OPCODE: #4 9071FFFFFFFFFFFF" and
"Sync:p25p1 NAC: 87 LDU2 e:FrFr1Dr9r9rErDrEr".

I should also add that I'm using Virtual Audio Cable.

How can I try to improve my sound quality of decoded audio?

Here is a video showing the audio quality, where it is fine in the beginning, but breaks up a lot in the middle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43F1nX-Indo

Thanks everyone.

Your video says "Watch DSD+ CMD window" but it's the source audio window that you should be watching. There are discontinuities (missing audio samples) showing in that window, which explains perfectly why decoding is bad.

The discontinuities show up during voice decoding, so I'd look at CPU loading or audio routing.

Huh, wow, okay. Thanks, CPU load is only a few percent, I'm using quite a beefy PC (8 cores 16 threads) so maybe it's VAC? I'll try VB Cable and report back. Appreciate the help!

Well, it seems like VB Cable got rid of the issue! Thanks a lot!
