What version are you trying to run? The latest SDR# versions do not cater for XP. try an earlier version like 1332.

On an old laptop (XP 32 bit), I use SDR# 1.0.0.1361, available at link from SDRPlayer which I believe is the last version that worked on XP.

I think you need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 (231.5 MB)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150

Check Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs for the .NET versions installed.

I have .NET versions 1.1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2, 3.5 SP1 as well as the below C++ 2010 and 2015

You may also need to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)"

Later SDR# and plug-ins use 3.6+ .NET framework which you can't install on XP.
If you can put Windows 7 on the PC then you can run later versions of SDR# so long as PC has enough power.

Also don't forget to use the XP version of "zadig" for installing USB driver.

Hope this helps
