Frequency Offset For HF SDR?

When using an SDR unit with HF capabilities does the software on the screen show the actual HF frequency or do you have to convert what is shown up or down to know the actual freq?

If the SDR can natively do HF without an unconverter, it’s direct tune — the frequency shown in the SDR software should be what the hardware is tuning to.

If there is an up-converter, you will have to add the offset based on the manufacturer instructions.

Try tune in one of the WWV frequencies.. If there is a conversion to be done, that would let you know how far you might be off.
