LarrySC,
If the City of Beaufort used Adam as a phonectic it would be here.
They use codes such as 1 Alpha 12, or 1 Bravo 42 or 2 Alpha 16.
The first number is the officers job of the day: 1 is first responder, 2 is alternate, 3 is traffic and 4 is supervisor. There are additional codes, best left for another day.
The letter is the patrol district and the last number is the officers ID number.
There are five patrol districts, but hard to write a discription that would hold up outside of being in Beaufort Here goes. Alpha is the downtown to Pigeon Point Area. Bravo is geneatly South of Bay Street/Depot Road, Charlie is north and west of Ribault Rd (not in Alpha or Bravo districts), Delta is the imediate downtown area and Echo is Lady's Island that is in the City.
