notice to everyone whom monitors darligton counties pal 800 the so is in the process of going encrypted as we speak they are getting their mobile and walkies reprogramed for it today and tommorrow the dispatch will be done by tommorrow afternoon so anyone with hopes that a feed on sc scanner dot com will not get it i have this from two very reliable sources one whom of which is on the so and the other works with pametto control the group that maintains the pal 800 system

it is now official they are now completely encrypted the dispatch went over at about 11;30 this morning the city went at 1;00 and changed talkgroups their new one is 51104 as if thats any good now that no one can hear them well ther goes another of the ever growing counties going digital

It is a shame we lost Lexington County SO to Digital Encryption years ago...hated it but you'll find other groups to listen to....

Yep darlington has been digital for a while get them good loud and clear on the PSR-500
here in Kershaw county they didn't go encrypted cause I just was listening to Hwy. patrol and darlington sheriff on a 10-0 with a white car going toward Lee county and also heard Lee county joining the chase and Lee county is digital as well so you should be getting them loud and clear what TGID do you have and if they did go encrypted they didn't go completely encrypted. and do you got a digital radio ??? well hope this helps ya out. No just heard them send a unit to a 10-83 which is a fight in progress I think anyways how you been ?

their encryption is spotty right now you will hear some of the stuff on there and some you wont until they get their dispatch console straight but as far as the rest of their channels they are encrypted such as their spec ops and narc ops and reg narc channel inv channel swat channel and thei talk around channel now the chase that you are talking about was on their city channel which is darlington pd and that is in the clear and they have also changed talkgroups they are now on 51104 instead of 51088 which was the sheriffs roaming channel

This will become more prevelant as time goes by. SLED sent out warnings to all LE agencies that they should be aware that anyone with a computer can monitor certain frequencies through ScanAmerica & can get radio information through Radio Reference. I am sure many agency officials knew this already but it does bring negative attention and will probably result in more agencies looking at encryption.

yep sheriff byrd wanted it encryted on at least their survylence channels so that they could watch different drug activity locations throughout the county and so that they could work with the marshals office on the newly formed futgiative task force

51088 is the sheriffs depts roaming channel the darlington pd new talkgroup is 51104 this was their original or supposed to be talkgroup but due to issues with the main console at dispatch they had to run on the 51088 talkgroup but now they have it straight and darlington pd is in the clear as far as being encryted they are not
