I have been monitoring the Palmetto P25 site on long mountain with uniturnker.

site 002-065 system BEE00 1D9 NAC 1D0

No peers have shown up and it has denied several Anderson County talkgroups.

Now that the Palmetto-800 conversion to P25 has been completed, it is possible that this site may now active, possibly simulcast with site 103 in Seneca. Can you check site 065 again to see if it is active?

Interesting.

Site 2-65 is one that hasn't yet been listed because it didn't show up in the neighbor/peer lists of any of the other nearby sites.

I wouldn't think that it's a simulcast site of the Seneca site if it's listed with a separate site number and unique set of frequencies. Callsign WQSL478 would appear to correspond to that location and set of frequencies.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's a new site that is still being built out. It is likely intended to improve coverage in the far NW corner of the state/county which is very mountainous. It probably hasn't been connected to the core controller, which is why it doesn't show up as a peer, and doesn't show any peers, and doesn't carry any audio traffic. Perhaps those repeated call grants on TG 65536 are used for range testing.

Thanks for posting, and keep monitoring it. Let us know if something changes.

The Long Mountain Site 2-65 is active and has Seneca, Hogback and Caesars Head as peers(if i remember from last time i ran unitrunker on it) I do hear and see the 50211 SCHP talkgroup on it sometimes.

AES-256 secured
Motorola ASTRO 25 systems at system release 7.16 or later broadcast a continuous "Digital ID" BSI (Base Station Identification) on the control channel, as well as on the voice channels while they're active and during the hang time at the end of the transmission. It's transmitted as an integrated part of the normal data stream.

65536 is a dummy talkgroup ID that Unitrunker uses to represent BSI activity.

Brian, can you go ahead and add this site to the DB, or do we need more info?
