That would be alot of fun, a friend of mine has a tuneable video reciever. It's amazing what you can see if you drive around "scanning"

Make sure to turn your speakers down before you click the link.
Should have listened, about fell out of my chair! LOL

Is the forum going slow for everyone else?
It is for me also, even slower than usual. (I'm on dial up :( )

I don't even know what this is for, what does it do? I see it has an Audio and Video reciever, does this scan the VHF and UHF TV bands or something? Or can you see the in-car cameras?

The promo video is pretty cool. If this becomes a REAL product and not just vaperware it will be big time. As of right now there is nothing on the market, that I know of, that can pick up the digital video feeds at race tracks!

I think it is just something they are offering at the track to make it more enjoyable for the fans,

This might explain it better,

LOS ANGELES and MONTREAL, Aug. 30, 2004 - NASCAR Digital Entertainment
and Kangaroo Capital, in cooperation with SPEED Channel and seven NASCAR tracks,
announce the testing of Kangaroo.TV™, a new and unique at-track, hand-held, multimedia
experience for fans.
At seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events during the remainder of the 2004
season, the Kangaroo.TV device will carry SPEED Channel’s live television coverage of
the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, live in-truck video feeds, live team audio
communications, an electronic version of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series media
guide, and live timing and scoring data. Fans may also activate a “favorite driver”
function that coordinates live timing and scoring data and in-car communication for a
specific team.
The first test of Kangaroo.TV at a NASCAR event will take place on Thursday,
Sept. 9 during the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 200 at Richmond Interna tional
Raceway, in Richmond, Va.

I wouldn't trust this thing over my scanner for in-car communications. I am still bringing my 3 scanners to the track. Yes, 3   hehe.

I think someone already tried the R3 at the track to get the cams, but it didn't work.
From everything I have read all the camera feeds at the track ARE digital and the in car cameras, if not all, are fed up to receiver in the air and then fed down to the TV truck.
As far as the R-3, I don't have one but would love to. Anyone want to loan me one for testing? I promise to return it (insert Emoticon for crossed fingers here).
