Thanks for the changes as this will make the program usefull to more feed owners who want to use it this way.
Yes, and that was my concern. Thanks for the addition of .net 2.0

I just noticed something interesting. When streaming to a shoutcast server, the following is listed when I go to my DNAS page:

Server is currently up and private

Is there a setting that I missed to make the stream public?

Our feed will be going down for a short time later today due to changing our ISP. So if you try to view the DNAS page and it is offline we hope to only be down for an hour or so while the installer is on site.

The setting is hard coded icy-pub:0
I will change it to icy-pub:1

Does it effect anything besides what it says on the server page? ...Server is currently up and private

Will it stream to Shoutcast right out of the box... or do you need to run the Shoutcast server software with the port and password stream first?

When a stream is private it is not listed in the shoutcast directory. I can see where some stations may not want to be listed but I think it would be rare.

A ShoutCast server needs to be running before a connection is made from RadioFeed. The Web Server will stream without an external server running.

Have some bugs with RadioFeed. Where do you want us to post problems?

1. Not saving setup when restarting.

2. Not minimizing on start up

I wouldn't say those are bugs but more or less missing features.

Since it has a check box for minimizing I assumed it was a feature.

Does it minimize to tray when you press minimize? I think the checkbox is saying literally what it does and a feature request would be to have it minimize on startup. I could be wrong as I'm just looking at the screenshots.

Are you runing Win 7?
If yes, this problem may or not appear depending on where RadioFeed is installed. To test if this is the case...Using the Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder and create a new text file. Save it and see if you get the access denied message.

RadioFeed may appear not to save the configuration file because the
folder permission needs to be set even thou you are the
administrator. Wierd. The way to fix this is to give yourself permission
to access the folder. This can be done by going to Properties and
navigating to the Security tab.
Windows 7 Access Denied: Permission & Ownership

EDIT: I found out how to handle thuis in Win 7. I will release a update sometime today.

When RadioFeed is loaded, it will make make the Windows state(Normal, Minimized, Maximized) the last when it closed. That's if the RadioFeed.cfg file is saved which should should always happens.

I've just been having a play around with this and I'm really impressed with how easy it is to set up. Thanks for your efforts & for sharing this with the community.

Is there a way I can stream in 64kbps stereo MP3 at 44100? There's no option in the drop down menu, I did try altering it directly in the config file without success. Thanks for your help.

Great Software - really like the slider for the audio levels - I will be trying multiple (6+) instances as once.

44100, 48kbps is the highest. Is there a difference in audio quality from 48 to 64? It will consume more bandwidth.

Thanks for the compliment on the slider.
Let me know how the multiple instances works out for you. ProScan been tested with 20 instances and RadioFeed is using the same base code but slightly improved so I don't anticipate any problems.

You would not want to broadcast your RR feed at those settings.

In case feed owners do not know, our standard Bit Rate and Sample Rate is:
Bit Rate: 16kbs CBR for a mono (single) scanner feed
or
Bit Rate: 32kbs CBR for a stereo (duel) scanner feed

Sample Rate: 22.050 khz

Going higher costs RR a lot more $$ in bandwith costs.

Default RadioFeed 1.2 Is Ready

I just released RadioFeed 1.2. A no cost solution.

Streams audio to RadioReference, Icecast, and ShoutCast servers using the Source Client feature or directly to media players using the Web Server feature.

Available at ProScan on the right side of the page.
  • Fixed - Win 7 not writing the configuration and log files if installed in the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
  • Changed - Selecting RadioReference server type in the Source Client locks the Samples Per Second at 22050 and MP3 Bitrate at 16(Mono) / 32(Stereo) kbps.
  • Changed - RadioReference Auto Configure in the Source Cient can now pick feed by description instead of mount if running multiple feeds.
I will be working on the the Wiki next and then on to the GRE scanners.
