Alpha Tag Set-Up Instructions

Hello All:

I am currently streaming the feed from my Pro-2096 scanner using Icecast, Ogg and Winamp. Everything is working great with this set-up, except no alpha tags because of the RS model scanner.

I recently acquired a BC796D so that I could also stream the alpha tags. I really don't want to change my current set-up of using Icecast, Ogg & Winamp unless I have to.

If any members can offer instructions or helpful tips on how to incorporate alpha tags using the set-up I already have (if possible), that would be greatly appreciated.

Download the first two programs, Serproxy, and Talkgroup Monitor (TGM).

Both have readme files. Use the "Icecast" document in TGM zip file to setup TGM to work with Icecast.

Thanks very much for the reply! I actually had been to that site based on Scan Cape Cod's excellent tutorial, but didn't realize the Icecast documentation in the TG zip had the configuration stuff. I will definitely pursue that, so thanks!

P.S. I just tried the Windows media encoder application on streamwebtown.com and that worked pretty well. I guess that one is another viable option for folks as well, given that it's currently free.
