access point

I FINALLY got the Siren app for Android...Thank You Lord!!... LOL So just a quick question from a fairly new scanner enthusiast. What is the difference between using Infrastructure mode versus Access Point mode and why would I choose one over the other? I can't seem to find this info anywhere...
