air transat

I was monitoring 6586 two days ago in the early afternoon (EST). 6586 is an MWARA frequency normally used in the Carribean. AirTransat xxx calls Gander on 6586. I could not hear the ground transmitter. The pilot waited a few seconds and then give a position report of 40N 17W. 40N 17W is off...
