cigarette lighter charger

Wanting to get this for my Scanner (Uniden BCD396XT), I do know that scanners can be a touchy thing sometimes when it comes to electricity do's and dont's, any tips or advice? Is this a good one? Any suggestions on something better? Thanks guys! Newbie Ryan...
