front case replacement

Has anyone ever tried replacing the front case on an Icom IC-F80DT? I have downloaded the service manual, and have found the part number: 8210021800 - 2803 T-Front Panel (IC-F80DT/T) The disassembly looks to be straightforward enough, but it's always nice to learn from someone who's done it...
