I'm only hearing bits and pieces of the traffic, I'm just wondering if there is a way to pick it up or if what I'm missing out on is encrypted. I'm scanning with a BCD396XT

So I went to radio shacks closing sale and purchased a digital scanner and have set it up manually (wasn't as hard as what many claim). I have a lot of talkgroups programmed in, but I was wondering what other ones are commonly used in the Kalamazoo area. I realise I could just wildcard scan...
