uniden bcd260

A rookie here. I finally updated the firmware,after somehow,successfully installing the virtual comport driver and getting the PC to see the scanner. That said,what this other software that’s on the Uniden site for the 260DN? I’ll be checking out Arc260 shortly,but was just wondering.
