usb to db9 problems

I tryed loading drivers from a disk that came with the cable, but no luck there on those crappy mini disks, can't for the life of me get drivers for the usb to serial cable I bought off Ebay. Do you guys recommend a specific cable that works with the BC246T Uniden Handheld scanner on a Vista...
