Only 10 code I've ever heard was 10-4. THey still use their old signal codes, even though they were supposed to stop a couple of years ago. Only codes they have dropped completely are the N codes for alarms.

Still using the signal codes. Cops don't like change. We did maybe two weeks before we fell back into our old habits.

"Plain Language" effort is another stupid federal effort trying to justify their existence. There no way to get around local lingo, colloquialisms, etc. etc. Some PDs call them 'suspects'; some call them 'actors'. Abbreviations are used all over the place. How about "pop", "coke", "soda". You can't get around these. The primary purpose of the radio is to facilitate the job and things that happen 99% of the time not meet some moronic federal effort to address what happens 1% of time.
