Anybody know it state parole officers use county or other systems for any communications? I saw a show about parole officers in other states and they were armed and using different city and county radio systems. Just curious about them here in Texas. I have never heard really anything from them in the San Antonio area.

TDCJ Parole officers don't use radios that I know of. In fact, I don't even know if they use state vehicles. I think that they can carry a firearm on duty, though.

The offices typically have a pool car assigned to them (usually a CVPI) but all communications are done via cellphone.

M_o is correct, they use cell phones and have access to motor pool vehicles.

My cousin recently retired as a TDCJ Parole Officer and he opted to use his POV.
