Is the KHP Troop F “Metro” TG a simulcast of F-Metro on the Sedgwick County system?

I know most of the troopers use the Sedgwick County system when they are in Wichita, but I was just curious if I could hear any of that without scanning the Sedgwick county system?

No, they are.

When I'm in Wichita, on my SDS 100 I listen to both Sedgwick KHP Metro, and I also listen to KSCIS Wichita Tower F-KHP-2 and F-KHP-2.

I hope this helps!

It's been explained to me that when troopers are working anywhere in Sedgwick County that their radios only affiliate and operate on the Sedgwick County system unless the system fails or there is a pursuit or major incident that would require patching to KSICS. Any county outside of Sedgwick that is in Troop F is dispatched on F-1 and F-2. Here is a link where this has discussed before. KHP Wichita Metro
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I often travel to Wichita for work from Arkansas City so I was just curious if I really needed the Sedgwick Co. system to hear troopers in the Wichita area, and it appears I do. I guess there no real reason to have the F-Metro KSICS TG then?

All the troopers in Sumner, Cowley and Butler counties are dispatched on F-KHP-1. I rarely hear traffic on F-KHP-2 on either the Cowley or Sumner county towers.

That's because F2 is for the counties north and west of Sedgwick.
