“NYMM” Engraved Portables/Cases

Anyone happen to know what NYMM stands for in the NYC Area? I’ve been seeing more and more cases pop up on eBay for the 537-949-820 Series that are engraved with “NYMM” as well as the occasional VX-820 in UHF2 popped up also engraved with “NYMM” All items I’ve seen engraved with this appear to be equipment NYPD uses. Looking forward to brainstorming as I haven’t been able to find anything on eBay besides “NY Model Management” lol

These can all be possible. Let’s keep in mind however that I doubt these kind of companies would be carrying Public Safety grade portables/swivel cases with that engraving on them. Then again, who knows.

My theory is that it's a small NY leather company that makes these cases for the NYPD. I have one for the vx-824 radio that I bought on eBay for my collection.

The metal swivel is the size of the standard Motorola ones which are huge compared to vertex/AW standard cases. The case is also bigger in size, so it can fit the bigger hi-cap battery.

The leather is a smoother texture and more flexible. I personally think it gives it a cheap look compared to the textured more stiff cases but that's my opinion.
