Here was the old setup:

http://www.radioreference.com/forums/pictures-your-shack-mobile-setup/105263-05-impala-install.html

I have re-worked my Impala. I mounted the Sirius radio with a mount from mountguys.com. I attached it to the bottom side of my scanner. The Garmin GPS is attached to the side of my scanner with the OEM stuff that came with it. The Garmin GPS came with two mounts(suction cup and bean bag) and two power plugs(both for cars), good deal! The Blackberry mount came from mountguys also. All the mount are universal so I can swap them around from position to position if I have to. The speaker above the drivers seat is tied to the scanner. The speaker below the tied into the TM-D700a. GPS for the TM-D700a is hidden in the dash.

I'm still waiting for my bluetooth equipment, head mount for my TM-D700a, and timer to come in. The timer will be tied into everything and will shut it off after a pre-set time has passed after the key is turned off.

The girlfriend hasn't seen it yet, but I'm sure I will get the head shake. She won't drive my car anymore with the speaker above the drivers seat.

Looks like a nice view from the driver's seat. Good job.

Maybe a foot or two of wire loom to clean up the wires a bit, but I doubt they can be seen from anywhere but the floorboard anyways.

Bet you get a nice glow at night huh?

How is the Garmin able to see the satellites from down there?

Nice setup - I have a 2001 Impala 9C1, will have to post a picture of my scanner installation.

I get all five signal bars on the GPS mounted right where it is at. For the last week I had it mounted on the floor board and still got all five signal bars. Never had any problems.

Right, you can only see the wires from the floorboard.

With all three lights on bright*high), it actually gives me a headache and blinds me. I usually got the Sirius radio set to low, scanner on high, and GPS on night mode.

Nice, the only thing I don't like is the position of the GPS. I personally don't want to look down to see where I need to go.

You need to put some red and blues on the car. :D

The noisy thing will tell you when to turn, if you miss your turn, it lets you know that too. I don't like the light on the dash at night. Creates glares and makes some spots on the window hard to see out of. I already can't see out the windows of the locomotives at work, I'm not going to fight it on my own time. The GPS mount, Cell phone mount, and Sirius mount are all interchangeable. If I needed to, I could put in on the dash in a matter of 30 seconds and mounted.

I finished up the TM-D700 mount today. I bought the LM-900 mount from Lido mounts. Not really impressed with it, but it does work.

I noticed you attached the scanner to the ashtray. Do you have any issues with rattling? That seems like it would be a good amount of weight added to it that could cause the ashtray rattle.

You have all that mounted off one bracket on the back of a plastic ash tray. Im sure it wobbles allover the place.

No problems unless I am on a rough road. Worst comes to worst, I will either bolt/screw the asstray to the dash. But so far, no problems.

Nice setup! I dont like the speaker being on the "B" Post. I would have mounted both speakers under the dash.
