08 Silverado Start

Just started outfitting my 08 Silverado..traded in my 05 so am still switching over radios etc..
Mostly used for Skywarn and Emcomm and general Amateur Use
1st Radio mounted is my ICOM V8000..great radio..still havent decided on a scanner yet..any thoughts on a mobile scanner would be greatly welcome..

As far as scanners go, it depends on what you want to listen to, what type of systems are in your area, and most importantly, what type of systems may be coming to your area shortly!!!

Did a quick review of your county and city. Both have TG's on the MN ARMER P-25 statewide system. So, a digital scanner will be needed to decode the signal:) Any of the newer digital scanners will do the job. I'm guessing you would want a mobile scanner, not a handheld.
