1.6.0 Installation Error

Hello all.
I am trying to install DSD 1.6.0. I installed Cygwin and Cygwin runs with no problems. But when I attempt to run dsd160.exe, I get an error saying the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Some of the Google answers has me downloading dll's from other sites and putting them in to system32. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that.
Did I miss a step along the way?

PS: I'm running Win7 Pro, 64 bit, 3.1 GHz, 8 GB RAM.

Just a curious question, is there a particular reason you want to run that older version of DSD?

Old? According the list at the bottom of this page, it's the latest version. http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Digital_Speech_Decoder_(software_package)
Or, should I look in another location?

I should not say old, but WinDSDv2 and DSDPlus are two program that work much better. There was actually a DSD v1.7 that i still use periodically that decodes D-Star audio. My question should have been more of the need of running DSD v1.6 vs the two better programs i mentioned.
