I am attempting to get my Pro-96 to properly connect to the Win96
Program. I am using a USB-Serial Port adapter RS 26-183.
Upon attempting to Download from Scanner I get the error message "Timed out waiting for header".
I am 99.9% sure the COM Port is 3 as all the others "do not exist" and the scanner begins initializing on 3.
How do I get the scanner and software to handshake ?

Thanks

You ARE using the 20-289 two-way cable, right? Make sure you are also using the latest drivers for your adapter.

Yes, I am using the 20-289 2-way. The driver must be the latest--the PC
is brand new. thanks

Problem solved---located Serial Port number 5 as the correct one--
Thought I only had four---back in business.
