Today I heard Signal Code 47 and Signal Code 77 but have not been able to find anything on the internet to explain it.

Dang, man... Just because no one responded with the signals or ten codes doesn't mean we have them and aren't sharing...
Did you ever think that the people who read your request didn't have them?

This online community is about sharing the knowledge we gain, to better our scanning experience. Of course, you and others (including I) will run into a few bad apples on here that may not be as kind.

Most of us have to learn the "police lingo" on our own and go by commonly used ones. Sometimes a friend of an officer can get the codes to put online and share.

All in all, if I happen to get them, I will post them.

PS: Most likely, Hancock County's list may be really similar to others near to the county, such as Jackson Co., for interoperable uses. ;)

I apologize for any attitude i may have sent out myself. :( I just felt surprised at the moment.

But yes, Humble_Mustang, boards in general are friendly to newbies to the hobby :), and I know I should have made some acknowledgement, when I saw your post.

And, thanks, milf, for those 10-codes/signals. (I know they are somewhere on the "State Agencies" page, lol)

Humble_Mustang, those should be a great start for you and I am gonna see if my dad's friend with Jackson County would mind emailing a set of their 10-codes and signals.

I will post it to the county page and here as well if i can obtain them.

Enjoy :)

Go to my scanner page, I have the 10 codes and signals used by Jackson County, Gautier, Ocean Springs PD. Same ones for Biloxi PD too but thats about useless since they're on provoice.

http://www.nexusradio.us/links.htm

go to the link on there for signals and 10 codes.

Signal 47 is a Mental person, and Signal 77 is a Juvenile (juvenile problem)

You'll learn as you listen that they loosely use the signals for what they're trying to mean. Like you might hear... "he's a little 47 don't you think?" You know he's refering to the person they were looking at or in contact with as being mental. Or you might here "I'm going to be 10-12 with this 77 back to his house" He just said he's going to give the juvenile a ride home in his patrol unit. (10-12 means visitor present and within hearing range)

I live over here and I can pretty much answer any question you might have for anything radio wise in Jackson county. Welcome to the forum, you came to the right place... And welcome to scanning. I'm curious, what radio do you have and what is your listening interest?

sig codes you asked about

Hi,

A sig 47 is a lunacy problem or mental case and a sig 77 is a juvenile problem. Hope this has helped.
