Must be some guy that bought one without their wife's permission. To smooth things over he said he's try to sell it on e-Bay to try to recover his cost. When it doesn't sell he'll tell her that he tried, but nobody would buy it from him and he figured he'd just keep it.

To be perfectly honest, I don't see the point in paying such a ridiculously high price for a scanner like that. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a p-25 scanner. I've been trying to save money for it for the last 4 years but I guess it's just not meant to be.

Flea Markets and Yard Sales.
I bought PRO197 at a yard sale for $10 last year, and latter found out it was unrepairable.
This year I bought a PRO96 at a flea market for $2, and gcomradio.com fixed it up for me.
the PRO96 was buried in a box of kids walkie talkies.

I'll sell you mine. Like new, WITH extra / never used faceplate with speaker attached, box, manual, etc.... $10,000,000.

You know, they don't make them any more... get it while its hot...!

You guys know how to give me a chuckle. I appreciate it. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I am in the market for a PSR-600. I ain't even gonna ask for a trade or anything because, truth be told, I don't have anything to trade that anyone would want except maybe a BCT15X. My inbox is open if anyone's wanting to deal.

Gotta be a typo!

I think the site asks how many you have to sell and it probably took the amount X his price and gave a number.

I'm sure it's a seller mistake. Admittedly though, a competent seller would check their listing *immediately* after it goes live to verify it.

Hmm ... well my theory is shot. I see that it says there's only 3 available. Even at $3,333 each that's a little steep. :D

Now that you put it that way it makes more sense.
Completely reasonable price. I'm sure that the hand of God has touched those units for that kind of money.

It's the usual eBay insanity.

The idiotic pricing of items on eBay never ceases to amaze me. Some people have an inflated sense of what their gear is worth.

The price includes free shipping so what is there to complain about?
prcguy

I understand the seller is offering free shipping, but for christ sakes, who in their right mind would pay 10 grand for a scanner whose MSRP is only 499 bucks? Why don't they just set an honest price and call it a day? We all know these jagoffs ain't gonna take any offer but MSRP or higher. It's folks like that that give Ebay a bad name. I understand they have to make money too, but that is just friggin' outrageous.
