SDS100/SDS200: 100 not connecting well

My uniden 100 is not picking up everything in my county. The county has 18 designated spots for fire, sheriff, ems hospital etc. If I am listening to the city police and they dispatch an ems unit to a rescue run and the ems unit calls the hospital on another channel the scanner will not pick up this transmission, skipping over this contact. However, if I turn the scanner to that channel, I can hear the transmission clearly. I have tried for the past week to solve this problem even leaving this question on a ham radio site ( I am a ham callsign KA8ZAW ) but the suggestions leave me more confused. I am about ready to sell this scanner on ebay. For something that was supposed to be easy to program, I find it is not. One person suggested I wash the entire data base out of my 100 and start over again. Uniden c/s was of no help. Is there an easy way to solve this problem or should I sell it and buy a 2 meter rig? Welcome to the RR forums:
First check to ensure the proper service type(s) is (are) enabled for each talkgroup your scanner skips over. See "Tag" column in database

A common oversight is not enabling Service Types for what you want to monitor.
Also in Sentinel, make sure you choose both Monitor AND Download.
