I am learning to use fldigi. Starting at about 6PM Eastern I hear what I think is fax on 10427.50. It goes for about 3 hours nonstop. When I try to decode it all I get are random black and white very small box like shapes. It this fax and do I have something wrong in fldigi?

Found something that seems to be close to what you tried to decode.
10429 NATO AWACS Discrete DHN66 Geilemkirchen �Magic�
1.5mhz above what your dial shows but it is very well a NATO frequency which always is encrypted. Won't be able to get any discernable decodes from that.
