Guess I spoke out of turn! Last I looked the specs had changed again and it had not been accepted.
Online shows them in stock. There are none in the region I live in. In fact there is only one 106 in this region.
Guess I better order a 197 "direct to you" when I stop buy one of the stores in the morning. Wonder if it will be 399 as well? The web site says 499.

My nearest store didn't have a 106 in stock, so I had to make a little road trip to get one yesterday. Can I get the price adjustment made at my closest store, or do I have to make that long road trip again to do it at the store I bought it at?

The 106 is indeed listed as On Sale for $399.99 on the RS website, valid thru 11-8-08.
Now, if I can just find one in my area. They don't seem to have made it to Chicagoland yet

You know, this really is cruel. I really don't need another scanner, but this appears to be the "perfect storm" of a sale discount on a new high end model! I don't see how I'll have this 1-day opportunity any time soon (if ever). I'll be off to my region's RS's today to try and grab one of these for $279
wabc....... any company store should fix it for you. Most stores wont though! Bet you end up on another road trip.

After working at the Shack for 4 months I vowed never to step into a Radio Shack again, but this was too good to pass up. Got the 106, programming cable, and wall adapter for $336.59. The associate at the Short Pump location was very helpful and no questions were asked about the coupon. They have 2 left if anyone is interested.

I bought my PRO-106 on October 30th, so I went in to Radioshack this morning and they said they could simply refund me and then resell it, so I walked out with $70 in cash savings! $499 - $100 instant - 30% off + 0% tax = $279.99
The deal was so good I had to buy two of them! Lucky for me the stores near me have plenty in stock.

Whew - I thought I would too - but I took it back to my nearest RS (not where I bought it) and they refunded the difference with no problems whatsoever. They were very polite, no hassle at all.
I did pay with plastic, fwiw. Cash refunds may be more difficult.

Add me to the list now. Went to the RS in my neighboring town at 10:00am this morning. They had 2 in stock and I walked out with one of them for $279. No sales tax in NH and I already have all the accessories because of my Pro-96. No issue whatsoever with the F & F coupon. Not sure if I'll ever hit another sale/discount situation like this one on a newly released high-end scanner
P.S. I just need to hide it from the wife now......

I hate decisions!
I didnt want to get another scanner but I, I, just HAD to, yeah thats it, I HAD to. I dont need a 106 but I did end up getting a pro-163. After the sale price and after the 30% off coupon, I payed just under $134 out the door. I'm lovin it!

Put me on the list too! Landed at Ft. Lauderdale airport and went straight for the Radio Shack in Boca Raton. The guy had to dig around out back to find them, but I got a 106, a programming cable and another 800mhz ducky for $337, taxes in. It was all I could do to keep the big a$$ grin off my face as he rang it up!
Add me to the list as well. Picked up one this afternoon with the USB programming cable. All and all walked out of the store with both for just $322 including tax.
