I have to agree with ridgescan. EAMs that are being broadcast from an aircraft is not the norm! There are also posts in this thread regarding an anomaly with EAMs being broadcast seemingly right over each other of which I believe ridgescan was also eluding to. I would regard that as being valuable info worth posting. I do agree however that just randomly posting "normal" everyday EAM activity is not very valuable information however we must also keep in mind that there are a lot of new listeners out there who may find catching these "normal" every day messages very exciting so they post it. Sorta like catching your first fish. Its all part of the learning curve.
Thanks for the props N1RGR-I don't think it's hurting anyone here to post something heard-we're just talking here for cryin out loud. If I annoy a more seasoned afficionado oh well. Avoid the thread I say.

The only issue with reporting "regular" EAMs is that the good and unusual reports get lost in the chaff. I have no problem with anyone reporting the regular EAMs, but I know in my case it causes me to pay very little attention to the thread, to only look at it occasionally.

As such if someone is hearing something unusual and reports it here looking for someone else to confirm what they hear or to give more information if the original reporter is not hearing it clearly, then fewer people will respond in a timely manor.

I would suggest maybe a thread called "EAMs" for the run-of-the-mill EAM traffic (pretty much most ending in "Andrews Out") and leave "11175" for more unique traffic. This also works well considering that EAMs are generally sent on more than one frequency and so a person reporting an EAM on 6739 would still be "on topic" for the thread. In fact, an EAM that is truly on one frequency only (and not just that an individual reporting station can only hear one freq) is unusual and should be note worthy.

I personally do not care who reports what how many times, electrons are practically free, but the reduction of thread usefulness is important I think.

Well pardon me all to hell! :D didn't mean to offend your sensibilities on this matter. Just logging what I though was out of the norm coming from an aircraft but what do I know compared to you?

Re-read what I wrote & work to comprehend it.

EAMS coming from aircraft aren't really out of the norm either, it's dumb to assume that just because it was a callword like "SERANADE," it must have been an aircraft, too, though most of them are.

Sounds like a AM broadcast station on 11180 bleeding over on 11175. Never heard this before.

Did anyone just get that EAM @ 2345 7-30-11 on 8992?

It said for "operation ??????" didn't catch the name, this is after a Skyking a few hours ago. Hmm...... And I'm not 100% sure, but I think it said "Offut out"

Unfortunately I was working...Bummer... I have noted heightened activity on HF-GCS over the past week or so. The other night Andrews was blasting Skyking messages right over a AMC aircraft trying to get a phone patch through. Im sure the Skyking messages take precedence.lol.

The 3rd week of every month HF-GCS traffic increases.
If you have Mode-S listen for a 6-26 EAM.
After this broadcast a TACAMO usually takes off.

WHOA! Who else heard this one around 8-2-11 2313z.

CEDAR 12 calling Mainsail for phone patch, patches to DSN. Aircraft advises RAVEN OPS no weapons were released, nor were attempted.

Interesting! I got a recording but just at the end when everyone is saying "gooday" and "out"

EAM's have been really wierd this week. Lots coming from McClellan and airborne platforms especially. Keep it tuned! We might get some more interesting stuff!

Nah, call the base and say "This is skying, ....I'm answering"

Haha, I just wonder what they would do. I'm good though.... I won't take the chance, nor do I want to find out. Curiosity might be killing the human instead of the cat then, haha :)

We don't want to lose our right to listen here... nor publicize it too much to the point of them moving to encrypted SATCOM! After all, we were some of the first people to know in the US that the French AF were on there way to Libya, and myself hearing the "no weapons released" message, it's one unpredictable thing. Atleast you get a reward after while from listening to a bunch of letter messages. :D

Yeah, Hickam I have heard a few times too.... I wonder why they are using so many different stations?

As I mentioned before and Im not sure its not a common theme but all the EAMs over the last couple of days have the Foxtrot Quebec at the start of the messages. Remember during the beginning of the Libyan conflict it was Oscar,Oscar.I wonder if the first two letters refer to a particular mission or operation?
