Hello
I am new to listening to Denver Police, and I was wondering what the difference between 114 Adam and 114 Baker cars.

That didn't answer the question.
114 Adam is the graveyard shift, 114 Baker is days, 114 Charlie is swings. Keeps things straight when the shifts overlap or if a car goes into overtime. Us old-timers would say, "114 detail 1" instead of "Adam."

Sorry if this is off topic, but I've been hearing "Tom" units on Auroras system lately. I know they have Adam (which is an extra car for that area, I think?) but for example I'm hearing 114Tom and I have no idea what those are? Maybe Precinct/ Sector Traffic cars? Thanks!

"Tom" is a detective in Aurora

Here is what I can share-

3 digit car ID's:
First number = shift...
1=days
2=swings
3=graves
4=SRO (school resource officers)
Last 2 numbers = beat location
So...unit 112 would be an officer working the day shift in beat area 12
I have a beat map that I will send to Erik and have him post it to the Aurora system

You are correct about "Adam" units. They usually double up on busy nights in busy areas.

Here are some others:
Motor= Traffic units
Cruiser= Sargents
Tom= Detectives
Lincoln= Lieutenants
Yankee= CSI
Victor= Vice
King= K-9
